What do I do with the different parts of the MARC Wizard?

Symptom
Now that you’ve bought this great set of products for updating your records, what do you do with it? Below is a brief explanation of what each part is for and in what order you should use them.

MARC on Demand
Search our database for records. These records need no further processing by Magic REcon or Subject Heading Updates.

FastMARC Cataloger
The quick and easy tool for creating MARC records. Use it to catalog records you can’t find in AccessMARC.

MagicREcon
Converts your brief records to full ones, including adding publication information and subject headings.
*Follett users should bring their entire database into Magic REcon and let it determine which records are brief and need updating.

MARC Magician
A powerful program that lets you globally or individually edit records, organize records, print cards & labels, and much more.

MARC Mechanic Express or MARC Mechanic Custom
Use  to correct records and standardize your call numbers.

Subject Heading Updates Updates old Sears subject headings to new headings.
It does not add subject headings to brief records.
